07.03.2006> I have noticed a LOT of chatter about urban fairies and fairy doors. In light of that, I am building a new page...or pages featuring some of the blogs which reference the phenomenon. I won't put links to ALL of them as the content is sometimes of questionable appropriateness to some of our more sensitive viewers.

If you look up you will see a link to older posts as this was getting kinda LONG.

07.10.2006> Crazy busy summer days! Journal/Guestbooks are filling up..I have to replace the ones at Sweetwaters Café (5th), Peaceable Kingdom (3rd) and Voilà (2nd). The tickets at The Ark are nearly all gone...I wonder what the next "show" will be?... will anyone SEE it?

I am pretty excited about the Rolling Sculpture Car Show Downtown on Friday July 14th 2pm-10pm –– I heard that the Faires (or A fairy) had entered a "car" of some sort.

07.12.2006> Kathleen and I did a 20 minute interview with Lisa & Dave of the "NEW97.5FM" WJIM out of Lansing (MICHIGAN) this morning at 7:30am. Dave might be a bit much to start your morning with if you like to "ease" into your days.

Art Fair(s) has atacked downtown. Not so sure how much I will be monitoring the doors during the next few days. This morning I discovered the tickets at the Ark were severely jammed up behind the glass. I suspect that someone maliciously pulled out too many and someone else in an effort to be helpful fed them back in.....sadly they do not tend to rewind as well as the come out. I has a brief radio interview yesterday on 1070 WIBC Indianapolis. Kinda fun being on the radio, but I ha dthe impression that they didn't quite "get it". They had not heard about the Vernors powered fairy car although they had just recently done their own experiments with Diet Coke & Mentos (and other additives).

Great day for the Art Fair(s)....despite what they say... it has all become one big thing to me. The temperature dropped a bit and it is sunny. Wear your sun screen! I'll work on the book in my office, thanks.

Whew! The Art Fair is over... pretty good weather overall. Working a bit on the web-site. I May have to update the home page as there just aren't enough doors to take you where you might want to be.

The Ark tickets are still a mess since the day Art Fair was being set up. I wonder if those fairies didn't high-tail it outa there for a few days. There is a bit of "tabloid" journalism on the Fairy Finders Page, for those with enquiring minds.

Well THAT didn't last long. The tickets at the Ark are "hopelessly" jammed up behind the glass with a couple strips left on the sidewalk. It is just as well that I am not a fairy, because I would be REALLY annoyed....well I'm annoyed ANYWAY. Luckily, the fairies appear to be much more resiliant than I. I also had to gently/firmly admonish a little boy in Sweetwaters, who had his foot pressed up against the fairy door, attempting to push it in. His father was a bit overwhelmed with his sons. I also noticed the small spindel on the right side of the Peaceable Kingdom fairy door was snapped off and missing... I'll have to look at some older photos and see if that is an old "injury" (not that it really matters when it occured). It's not ALL "gloom and doom" even it sounds that way from my whining.

I've been corresponding with GMTV ("Europe's biggest breakfast TV station"...if you buy their hype) about a spot they are planning. I tried to weasel a flight over, but they are much to shrewd. Rats!

I had an phone interview with Current magazine yesterday. Apparently they will be running an article on the fairies in their September issue. Today I am continuing my review of the journal/guestbooks for scanning... to include on the web-site and/or the "Urban Fairies Field/Journal" < a new page for book updates.

Freaky Hot & Humid today...(not "unusual" for summer in Michigan)... just sayin'.

I noticed that the fairies have done some summer tidy up... Selo/Shevel did some masonry work on the stoop and some fresh paint to cover some graffiti and chips.
Peaceable Kingdom's broken spindle was replaced and a bit of paint touch there too.
The tickets at the Ark are still pretty much wadded up.

On Saturday. July 29, Kathleen and I had a very pleasant interview with Erica Blake of "The Toldeo Blade". We chatted at Sweetwaters and then took her around to some of the other doors. Her article should run on Sunday, August 6, 2006 in print and on the Blade's web-site toledoblade.com
in multi media! (slide show, voice over and text?).
