CHALK ART at Sweetwaters Coffee & Tea
123 West Washington
One of the first hosts to Urban Fairies (outside of our home), Sweetwaters Coffee & Tea has
also been generous in hosting a show of my illustrations and has commissioned several chalk murals.
A blank slate.
Nearly literally, except that it isn't actually slate. It's drywall with chalk board paint,
Started the Ice Dragon mural Spring 2017. I began roughing it in using a Walkie Chalk® to extend my reach.
Serendipitously, I had just worked with the inventors of the Walkie Chalk® on developing the packaging.
I ended up redoing the hand/claw/talon as it seemed a bit too small.

Later I noted that I drew this RIGHT arm attached to the Left shoulder...DOH!
Even after stepping back a couple times.

It's important to know your subject matter!
So I had to drink a few Ice Dragons. :)
Nearly done. Back to add details... later.
OK. Done.
Closer look.
Then I got some fan art from Jake!
In September of 2017 was the advent of the Autumn Chalk board
Autumn Season Chalk Board.
Right side closer.
Left side closer.
Detail.
In May of 2018 The Tea Time with Clarence chalk mural began.

Remember Clarence?

A clean slate (again).
It takes some effort to banaish a dragon!
Clarence, the bridge troll stops by Sweetwaters Coffee & Tea for...

...tea.

Crowning.
Coming along. Though I was stumped for a bit. hee hee
Left Side.
Right Side.
End of the Day.
A change of season, a change of garland.
Chalk murals are a messy endeavor!
