Some of Us Got in This Business Because of Fairies
It turns out that Ann Arbor, Michigan, harbors a number of Fairy Doors in buildings to accommodate the Urban Fairies of the city. You can see the entire collection of Fairy Doors online thanks to the efforts of Jonathan B. Wright.

Since fairy stories were among my first literary experiences, I'm glad to see fairies are so honored in Ann Arbor."

My favorite part is the interjection: (*squee!*)
Check out the photos>>> here! Somebodies were industrious!
"pretty good artist"...you read that?
PRETTY GOOD.
<<< Check this out! Not just "pretty good",
but "amazing" as well (the fairies are, anyway).

HEEEHEEE!

Be sure to check out Tiffany Threadgould (she's ACTUALLY amazing)!
We worked together at Giddy Up. She does some great stuff!
She is now solely foccusing on Tiffany Tomato Designs.

<<< Canadian Television has (kinda) noticed the Urban Fairies... my web-site at any rate. I don't believe that it was "on" TV, but Kris Abel wrote about the fairies on his blog

I am bit concerned about a portion of his piece:
"... in fact it was with some work that they got one of them open... "

One should NEVER "work" to get a fairy door open. If it does not open with a gentle touch (after knocking), then you are not meant to open it at all. Our girls certainly know that. They are very conscientious about other people's (or beings) property.

Another correction: the first two fairy doors locations were found YEARS apart. The one in the hallway was discovered two years before Delaney was born.
<<< Fae Nation gave a mention to the urban fairies, though they insist on calling them faeries... not at all "offensive", but these really ARE "New World" fairies. Ceratinly there must be roots or hertitage in the past.

In the last couple months I discovered a few European blogs discussing the fairy doors.

(Using on-line translator):

Here gibts the places and pictures and so. Nevertheless do not understand I, to which those should be good. Naja I is probably too fantasielos

(apparently something gets "lost in translation")

(This one I can do... poorly):

So the fairy of your house can enter and leave by itself, why not install a proper entry door?

Translation (thanks to Deanara):

I wonder how you guys forgot this but after seeing these little doors and their
surroundings I've become a bit hyper. So cool... they are little places in
"normal" houses/stores where elves live. Also look at Peaceable Kingdom, there
the space is completely decorated!

So, do you have a leftover door? Look for a place in your house and help an elf
find a home. If there are three of you who are ready, I'll make the site.
